* Go to side events instead. These are more intimate. Higher-calibre operators and investors attend these. They are more open to building genuine connections here.

* Another added benefit is that you get to meet wildly successful people in your industry in person. You start to internalize that a real person who is no smarter or harder working than you has “done” the thing you’re trying to do.

* If they can do it, so can you. There are paths, strategies, secrets, and playbooks that can be gleaned.
