Last night I created an experiment on Farcaster that went farther than intended. What started as platform research revealed deeper truths about incentives, boundaries, consent, and human impact in web3. Some important lessons and thoughts on building better systems: https://blog.danfinlay.com/meme-tokens-and-consent/

The pattern for consent in web platforms seems to be a push to gain users at all costs. The various dark patterns asking people every time they use the app until they accidentally hit the wrong button become apparent as soon as you try and keep your contact list private from an app. The social media companies only seem to see us as a profit source and any dishonest way to steal information is deemed acceptable.
