I think the FC community is stronger bc it's earnest When you're a small(ish) group, treating interactions with good faith strengthens the group - that's how you grow and become a bigger group, people arrive for the good energy X is world-scale. There's not much growth left, so the vibe is ironic (and hence toxic)

Lol no this ain't it. THREAD: Let's get some facts straight here: I think by myself. I have been in crypto for a while. My first forays into crypto community were on Reddit. That was absolutely brutal. I am entitled to my opinion. Most of the people that interact with my posts here are men. I also have a sense of humor and LOVE shitposting - spend 3 seconds on my feed and you'd get it. I don't work on weekends unless super necessary. In fact, when i wrote that shitpost i was bleaching my hair and had 6 hours of free time and forgot to bring a book. Lens is for girls is just a meme, it just happens that our leadership is mostly women, and we have a lot of people from emerging countries including myself working on really hard problems - not only social, but defi and accessibility. We need more girl aligned messages on crypto, we just leaned into what we already are.

what leads you to believe that end to end encrypted communication is a net good for the world? esp in liberal democratic countries where the governments are at least in theory accountable to the people are the costs of letting malevolent actors coordinate worth the benefits? what exactly are those benefits that justify something like kiddie porn being easy to distribute at scale? or are the alleged liberal democracies currently in power more of a fiction than reality? or is it more that someday a less liberal less democratic regime will come into power? steel man positions only

Sometimes we're like fish swimming in water, not realizing just how unique this movement is. People from all over the world are collaborating OPENLY to solve complex problems and build a neutral secure public good Every week you can watch and even join the all core devs calls, where devs discuss the latest Ethereum software upgrades in real time youtube.com/@EthereumProtocol There's also an Eth R&D discord discord.gg/XMDuD2hS where anyone can join to stay updated on the latest discussions about Ethereum client development and research On ethresear.ch, you can view and share ideas for improving the protocol and discuss with others And on ethereum-magicians.org, you can join conversations about new standards to improve coordination across the ecosystem

One meta-note on the situation, is that in my timeline I have seen exactly zero non-western people defending Durov's arrest, but quite a few western people. Definitely don't want to say that they don't exist (after all, my timeline is biased just like anyone's), just this is what my sample is so far. IMO this is another example of the decoupling of liberalism and westernism that https://x.com/MacaesBruno often talks about.

story time in 2019 i qualified for the world athletics championships in Doha via world rankings but i didn't get selected by my federation because they believed i wouldn't medal or make the final there i was 21 years old and i was devastated as i had trained so hard however earlier that year i got talking to a random guy that i was sat next to in my lecture at uni he asked me what my dream job would be if i wasn't an athlete and i said ' tv presenter' a few months later he got a summer internship at the BBC and every day he pitched about me to them the exec at bbc listened, liked my content on instagram and then gave me a call i ended up going to that world championships as a fully accredited bbc presenter it was so much fun!!!! moral of the story sometimes things don't work out the way you want them too.. but they can still work out! oh and speak up about your dreams, you never know who is listening! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUM7Ru3Qnhs

Auto-scaling web servers is common. But I don't think I've seen anyone auto-scale databases before? (someone must have done it, but we couldn't find much) Anyway - I gave our Platform team the challenge and they built it! Awesome work. https://t.co/iBly7ECtB7
