Next, something that really grinds my goat: the entrenchment of the credit card system and their blatant rent extraction.

When networks stop growing, they should be owned by users & nodes in the network - not centralized companies

The US regime wants Indonesia to stop using QRIS and GPN (Indonesia local payment system) and switch to Mastercard/Visa because the former gives local businesses an "unfair" advantage. 

This is insane, QRIS is a standarized cashless payment system. Think of it like our's Alipay https://t.co/V8laybbigi

Think of Mastercard/Visa like a 2% VAT on every transaction in the economy, with proceeds going to them. 

Payments was a very hard and creative problem once, but now it’s a monopoly. Other countries are now figuring out basically free payment options.
