Coach asked what hero does preflop. Scored max with call. Postflop call of pot sized bet with top pair appears to be a huge fail. The lesson here is that the call preflop was more about targeting a flush. Or maybe if top pair can get to showdown cheap. The pair of aces facing a pot sized bet from the big blind and two callers. Does seem very likely that top pair is way behind with a weak kicker.

Agree with postflop but disagree pre. Yes, btn is more incentivized to call pre having position throughout the hand. But a call incentivizes sb and bb to open up their squeeze range and going 5 ways post with this holding is dangerous for the exact reasons that you describe. If you’re hoping to flush mine, you need to win 20% of the time for this to be +EV and your chance of hitting a flush is ~7%. A6s is a very playable hand heads up, the playability goes down multiway and it’s often dominated. Curious who did the hand breakdown on PC
