“as a single file please” 😱 Goodness, my college experience would have been 1000x better if the professors and administrators actually TESTED their learning management systems from the perspective of a STUDENT. In 2019 my English professor insisted on having an entire month’s worth of work turned in as a single PDF file on Canvas. I spent half the day cooked up in my dorm figuring out how to consolidate dozens of text files, pages from previously-exported PDFs, and phone pictures of peer-reviewed printouts and handwritten notes she had us take in class. (Of course, she also assigned a 24-hour take-home essay to be due the same day 😑) You can imagine this got worse as classes went fully remote the next year during COVID. The more dogmatic or technophobic the instructor, the more of a full-time IT kung fu-ninja we students effectively had to become to successfully navigate the obtuse grading systems they set up. And as a computer science student I already had way too much screen time 😵💫

The whole system is so broken and that is because you can't really measure a teacher's performance. t. irl teacher
