Marble Caves, Aysen, Chile It's easy to see how this remote wonder earned its name. The calcium carbonate caves have been chiselled out by the sea over thousands of years, and the resulting swirls of turquoise, mint and smoky grey look just like marble. Their far-out location on the General Carrera Lake in Patagonia means they've stayed largely untouched and unspoiled.
