If, after Musk’s Nazi salute, the U.S. crypto ecosystem and tech industry do not distance themselves from Trump and Musk, it will reveal a great deal about their true understanding of freedom and decentralization.

I’m waiting to see how many influencers and big figures make public statements criticizing it.

From what I read here and there, it's actually unclear even amongst historians (example here - sorry for the French - https://www.lemonde.fr/international/article/2025/01/21/elon-musk-seme-le-trouble-avec-un-salut-a-la-tribune-au-cours-d-un-meeting-de-donald-trump_6508053_3210.html) and he implies that it's wrong (https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1881536518206218445).

Giving him the benefit of the doubt here.

I'm 100% sure that is a Nazi salute since only the nazis and fascist use it in our modern world, and I'm 100% sure he knows it and what does it mean to perform it in a public event in front of hundreds of individuals in one of the most important events in the World.

Plus, he is endorsing a German party that has been playing with Nazism and fascism, and that has filonazis among their members.

Also, there is no strong evidence that Roman used that salute, and in any case, if they did it, only the fascists used it after them.
