Gavin's background & intro to crypto:

- Gavin Wood earned a Master of Engineering in Computer Systems and Software Engineering and PhD in Music Visualization for Human Computer Interfacing from University of York

- Before entering the blockchain space, he was are search scientist at Microsoft.

- He built the software systems for OxLegal, a smart text contract editor aimed at streamlining legal doc creation.

- Wood developed Martta, the first C++ language workbench.

- He designed and implemented the first smart lighting controller for a prominent London nightclub.

- Gavin first read about Bitcoin in 2011, but due to the KYC/identification process needed to buy it, he didn’t investigate it further. After reading an article about it two years later, it sparked his interest.
