1/2 Plutos Capital is a web3 native investment and trading firm. Our strategy combines fundamental investing, quantitative trading and macroeconomic research to best take advantage of the investment opportunities in crypto assets. Here's our thesis: Crypto combines several characteristics from TradFi asset classes: VC, fundamental public markets, commodities (mostly applies to BTC) and speculation and trading strategies that are based on non-fundamental indicators. We aim to find the optimal combination for crypto. A lot of funds combine VC and fundamental public investing, but this doesn’t reflect the reality: Crypto markets vary a lot from fundamental valuations with massive run-ups, crashes, and corrections. Due to its retail nature, news, narratives and culture play a huge role.

2/2 Plutos combines fundamental crypto investing with technical and quantitative trading, to capitalize on shorter term market movements and cycles. This is reflected in our team, which combines long-standing experience in venture capital, fundamental investing and trading. Further, the best investing approach will change. As crypto investing matures, it will move towards more fundamentally driven. It’s already happened, as many protocols are live now, there is more data, and tools such as artemis and tokenterminal help investors analyze it. Our ambition at Plutos is to 1) have constant awareness of where crypto lies on the spectrum of valuation drivers and appropriate investment approaches and 2) combine the right minds and resources to execute the best fitting investment approach.
