I need some clarification. When I'm performing a testnet task, is the ETH fee deducted from the WETH I receive from the faucet or from my actual ETH balance? Today I noticed that the fees were deducted from my actual ETH balance.

No your ETH isn't touched. Just helps us verify that you are a real human for having some in your wallet
