A group of victims from Parity lock in 2017 contacted me recently to help them craft an EIP that would help with funds recovery and prevent such occurrences in the system for the future. I had no idea the value of those 500k+ locked ETH is more than $1B (that was then... now It's more than 1.6B) - mindboggling

EIP999 was a disaster. How do we, the victims, create a better proposal that could benefit the whole ecosystem but get our funds unlocked at the same time? 🤓 This is almost 7 years later and at least 5M more crypto users than in 2017.

But this isn’t just about recovering funds; it’s about justice, improving the Ethereum ecosystem, and ensuring such incidents don’t happen again. Our Mission: 1. Raise Awareness: The Parity lock incident highlights vulnerabilities that need addressing. We aim to shed light on these issues and rally the community for support. 2. Craft a Community-Driven EIP: Unlike the contentious EIP 999, our proposal aims to create a fair and systematic process for recovering lost funds that benefits the entire Ethereum ecosystem. 3. Seek Justice: We’re a group of victims and supporters who believe in a fair resolution. Our goal is to recover the locked ETH and ensure all parties involved are treated justly. 4.
