She began exploring her interests with the human body through conceptual works like meat installations and rubber human skins after earning a degree in Monumental Art from the Royal Art Academy in The Hague in 1998. In the same year, at The Free Academy of The Hague, her love for painting was rekindled, and she began creating works with unique body perspectives. Her paintings aren’t just about representation; they tell deeply personal stories. As Krieg herself puts it, she paints her own experience—her body’s battle with aging, her fears, and her fascination with mortality. Initially, her work was more detached, avoiding eye contact and focusing on decorative bodies.
