We mentioned yesterday that art seeks to trigger thought and emotion in the observer. Check out @adesantora's artwork and also the title! What are your thoughts about its meaning? How does it make you feel? Let us chat about it and have another round of Pkok Talks...

Imo, this artwork is a protest. Eyes wide shut might be self-induced or caused by others. Given that one is unlikely to be able to voluntarily suture their own eyes, I believe the latter is more likely. Wouldn't it be about the brainwashing practiced by the traditional media all over the world? About the global craze of demonizing questioning the 'official' truths by labeling it fake news and linking it to some truly bogus news, all with the goal of undermining credibility? About a valid concern related to our fundamental right to free thought and expression? Shortly, the message I am getting is: 'Beware the day when the truth will be 'official' and delivered by a 'Ministry of Truth'. Because that will really be a night that will never end!' Was I going astray?

To me it means "see no evil" πŸ™ˆ! But it sorta makes me cringe because that looks so painful 😭😣

Refusing to see reality because it probably is too tough to handle, sealing one's eyes and isolating oneself in a bubble will bring about an exit from the real world, and thus... the ''night will never end."

The night will never end if we don't turn on the lights of our eyes!
