Born in Germany and raised in Kenya, Goldcat's journey into art was anything but conventional. Initially steering towards business and project management, she found herself trapped in the monotony of an office job—until digital painting opened the door to a creative career. Starting with a second-hand Wacom tablet, she forged her path as an illustrator, drawing fantasy characters and learning through online communities. By 2021, she had grown disillusioned with industry norms and the constraints of commercial art. The discovery of NFTs was a revelation—digital paintings could finally exist as unique originals. Intrigued by this possibility, she dove in headfirst—adopting the alias “Goldcat” to carve out her own niche in a market often critical of new talent. This shift allowed her to explore art on her own terms, breaking away from market-driven expectations and rediscovering the essence of her creative voice.
