We will be working with developers / projects that want to give users airdrops.

We’ll indicate what the developer is hoping to accomplish with the airdrop.

Users that 1) opt in 2) do the desired action—use a frame, engage in a channel, etc.—will start to develop reputation as a good user to offer future airdrops to.

Users that opt in, receive airdrops and don’t do the desired action will develop a reputation as a user to avoid offering airdrops. 

Ultimately, developers get to decide who to target (the data is permissionless). 

But I suspect airdrops on Farcaster will start to reward usage / go forward alignment.

First airdrop next week!

The proposed framework to align airdrops with user engagement presents an innovative and forward-thinking approach. Establishing a reputation scoring system based on active participation (e.g., using frames, engaging in channels) not only fosters sustainable incentives for users but also empowers developers to distribute airdrops with precision and efficiency.  
By excluding passive users from reward eligibility, this mechanism mitigates exploitation risks and ensures resources are allocated to committed community members.  
Respecting developers’ autonomy to target audiences using transparent, permissionless data, this model could set a new benchmark for airdrops within the Farcaster ecosystem.  
We eagerly anticipate the launch of the first airdrop next week and look forward to evaluating the outcomes of this pioneering strategy 👌
