According to the latest FTX bankruptcy filing, the next court hearing to confirm the reorganization plan will be held on October 7, 2024. If the plan is approved, creditors with claims of less than $50,000 may begin to receive compensation by the end of 2024. Parties with larger claims may not receive compensation until the first or second quarter of 2025.

CZ made his first post after being released, stating that Giggle Academy is progressing well and will become an important part of his life in the coming years. He will continue investing in blockchain/decentralized technology, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology, while also dedicating more time and funds to philanthropy (and education). He is currently writing a book, which is about two-thirds complete. Binance seems to be doing well even without his direct involvement.

According to Bloomberg, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao was released from a correctional facility in California on Friday. Scott Taylor, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, confirmed that Zhao Changpeng was released from a semi-open prison in Long Beach, California on Friday. He was sent to a low-security prison in June to serve a four-month sentence.

A fake wallet app that was available on the Google Play Store for four months stole more than $70,000 worth of cryptocurrency in a phishing attack before being removed. The malware impersonated WalletConnect to trick users into authorizing transactions. The fake app was downloaded 10,000 times in total, with 150 people being fooled.

The US SEC announced a settlement with TrustToken and TrueCoin, the latter of which was suspected of defrauding TUSD investors. The SEC stated: “As alleged, by September 2024, 99% of the reserves backing TUSD were invested in the speculative fund” and the defendants “offered and sold TUSD together with profit-making opportunities”. TUSD is suspected to be a stablecoin controlled by Justin Sun team.
