so, youβre telling me that the word pizza is pizza in every language but esperanto decided to change it just for the lols?

Grammar and pronunciation rules. "c" is pronounces "ts" in Esperanto, so it needs a "c" to keep the pronunciation. And "o" at the end is mandatory for nouns. So it's a maximally faithful transliteration given the language's properties and constraints.

Interesting. In Lithuanian, pizza is "Pica". Don't have a good explanation why, though closeness to Sanskrit may be a reason somehow
