What is Superchain? Superchain is a collective network of blockchain platforms built to make crypto easier, faster, and cheaper. It includes multiple chains, with Base and Optimism leading the charge. What’s layer 2? A Layer 2 (L2) is a blockchain that sits on top of a Layer 1 (L1) blockchain (like Ethereum) to make transactions faster, cheaper, and more scalable while still benefiting from the security of the main chain. Let's say Ethereum is a highway that gets congested when too many cars (transactions) are on it. A Layer 2 is like a fast-moving toll lane that helps process transactions more efficiently, reducing traffic on the main highway. Layer 2s, like Optimism and Base, bundle multiple transactions together and send them to Ethereum in batches, cutting down costs and making apps run smoother.
