a nascent, indie on-chain gaming scene is emerging and has a good chance of exploding into view this year. today I play tested two fun on-chain games (naval combat TBS and chess-based battle royale) made by solo devs in a few weeks using the MUD engine the time+cost to build fun on-chain games is now in free fall

this is the antithesis of the land-sale-vaporware-promise-brigade that we’ve mostly seen to date it’s about building + prototyping first..made easier and faster via MUD’s ECS-based architecture and tooling as the cost to make on-chain games goes down, expect to see a proliferation of weird experiments to emerge
