for the past decade, i had worked at companies that tackled the problem of connecting funding with impact in different ways. first at Patreon, to fund the underfunded and emerging digital creative class. at GitHub, to fund the communities building the open source software that powers the world.

one of my favorite collaborators joined Optimism, and it further piqued my emerging interest in web3. this space has unique potential to solve how impact is rewarded, how funds are distributed, and how power dynamics can be balanced.

i’m lucky to be a part of the Optimism Collective, where we share a vision of a potential future where essential and impactful software is appropriately funded, rewarded, and sustainable. retropgf round 1, 2, and so on is the output and continued signal of our commitment.
