The Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab is probably the toy that everyone would like but no one would ever have the courage to buy. It was created specifically to allow children to observe nuclear and chemical reactions using radioactive material. It should be noted that it was the 1950s and that this was just one of dozens of laboratory kits for chemical reactions on the market. But that wasn't all, just think that there were hundreds of products (creams, drinks, toothpastes, pills, etc.) that contained radioactive substances. The inventor, Alfred Carlton Gilbert, wrote in his autobiography that the Atomic Energy Lab was "the most spectacular of their toys". The kit contained a cloud chamber, which allowed the observer to watch for alpha particles, a Geiger counter to measure radiation, four glass jars containing uranium mineral samples, some highly radioactive such as torbernite, and sources that emitted radiation. In 2006, Radar Megazine named the toy as one of the ten most dangerous toys of all time
