After my 1st job after school, I never had to give any formal interviews for my future jobs. This is how I did it. 1. Created a strong positive impression on everyone at every place I have worked. 2. Started networking in the industry from the early dags ... both locally and online! I used to be at the networking events for at least 2 days a week. 3. Went to a number of hackathons and got really good at pitching projects from a technical and from a business perspective. 4. Made a running list of people that I wanted to work with. Started offering help for free when possible. Mostly they paid me in kind of cash. 5. Setup a number of 6-9 months cadence to have a coffee with a list of industry friends. And then, whenever I was looking for a project, work, or a job, I'd send 1 email to all these folks, and I would line 3-4 opportunities in the next few weeks. If I can do it, I'm sure any of you can do it. Give it a try, and let me know in a year how it goes.
