Nebraska enforces new crypto ATM law to prevent fraud, requiring sufficient warning disclosures Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has signed the LB609 bill into law in an effort to combat fraud and "protect users of cryptocurrency kiosks and ATMs." In a statement released Wednesday, the governor said the bipartisan legislation, known as the "Controllable Electronic Record Fraud Prevention Act," is part of the efforts to "make sure that we have guardrails to prevent criminals from taking advantage of Nebraskans." The bill, introduced by Senator Eliot Bostar in January, stipulates that kiosk operators must be licensed under the Nebraska Money Transmitters Act and clearly disclose all terms associated with their services, including warnings about consumer fraud.

Global crypto funds shed a further $876 million last week amid 'signs of capitulation' Global crypto investment products run by asset managers such as BlackRock, Bitwise, Fidelity, Grayscale, ProShares and 21Shares witnessed net outflows of $876 million last week as negative sentiment continued, according to CoinShares data. The funds' outflow streak has now extended to a fourth consecutive week, totaling $4.75 billion, reducing year-to-date inflows to $2.6 billion. "Although this indicates a slowdown in the pace of outflows, investor sentiment remains bearish," CoinShares Head of Research James Butterfill said in a Monday

Binance founder CZ says Elon Musk's X 'should ban all bots' Long before Elon Musk bought Twitter and renamed it X, the social media platform has had issues with bot accounts. Now it appears Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao may have had enough of it. "I think X should ban all bots. I only want to interact with humans here," Zhao, or CZ as he's widely known, posted to X on Sunday, tagging Musk's account in the process. "If someone uses Grok/GPT/DeepSeek to generate a tweet and copy and paste it here, fine. But API posting should be disabled." As the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance is one the digital assets industry's biggest players. X is perhaps the most popular public forum for people who work or invest in crypto. CZ, a popular figure in crypto, has nearly 10 million followers on X.

At crypto summit, Trump vows to sign stablecoin legislation before August and end crypto debanking President Donald Trump said he hoped to have stablecoin legislation on his desk by August as he forges ahead on making significant changes to how the federal government approaches crypto. Trump said he supported lawmakers' efforts to pass stablecoin bills and others focused on market structure during a White House inaugural crypto summit on Friday afternoon. Trump said he wanted to keep the U.S. dollar "long into the future." "I hope lawmakers will send that legislation to my desk before August recess if they can," Trump said.

Bitwise CIO says 'market has this wrong,' Trump's crypto reserve is bullish despite flaws Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said the "market has this wrong" and is "overthinking things" amid the U.S. crypto-reserve fueled Trump pump and slump. The crypto market initially surged following the President's announcement on Sunday that he had directed a working group to "move forward" on a U.S. However, bitcoin subsequently dropped over 10%, and ether plunged more than 15% after Trump's announcement of new tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico and China fueled risk-off sentiment ā€” erasing the crypto reserve news gains and reminiscent of the infamous President Xi bitcoin candle in 2019, albeit far quicker.

Industry leaders chide Trump's inclusion of XRP and ADA in US crypto reserve: 'delegitimizes assets like bitcoin' When U.S. President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to announce his crypto working group will move forward on a "crypto strategic reserve," industry pundits were surprised to see the likes of and even SOL included in that order. Adding these three cryptocurrencies did not sit well with some, even though the president made a follow-up post to reiterate that BTC and ETH, the two largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, would also be included. "A U.S. Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration," Trump wrote. "I will make sure the U.S. is the Crypto Capital of the World."

Trump to Speak at First-Ever Crypto Summit on Friday as Regulators Drop Key Lawsuits President Donald Trump is set to host the federal governmentā€™s first Crypto Summit on Friday, the White House announced, as crypto prices make a modest comeback after their recent slump. Trump will speak to top founders, CEOs, and investors in the crypto industry at the event, which will be led by AI & Crypto Czar David Sacks. Bo Hines, head of Trumpā€™s digital assets working group and a relatively low-profile figure in the crypto world, will run the event. ā€œThe last administration unfairly went after the digital asset space, but President Trumpā€™s policies mark a new chapter for financial technology,ā€ the White House said in a statement.
