This week鈥檚 spotlight is on Animistic Beliefs, a boundary-pushing electronic duo known for their fusion of modular synthesis, cyberpunk aesthetics, and deep cultural storytelling. Hailing from the Netherlands, Linh Luu and Marvin Lalihatu blend their Southeast Asian and Moluccan heritage with experimental club music.
Their music is raw, energetic, and emotionally charged, incorporating intricate modular synth sequences, distorted rhythms, and recently they added vocals. Through their work, Animistic Beliefs explore themes of identity, decolonization, and the relationship between technology and spirituality.
I haven鈥檛 had the chance to see them live yet but it is definitely on my radar, it seems like an amazing experience.
