Tonight my 60+ year old father-in-law asked me to help get him setup with Crypto (he’s always trying to learn the latest stuff; super smart guy). Got him setup with the Coinbase wallet in less than 2 mins, sent him some USDC on Base for free, and sent him an NFT. This is the way. 🔵

Sure! Just USDC on Base. To me stable coins are a great start because there’s no price fluctuation distractions. Gives a good foundation to introduce the idea of other tokens vs ether / bitcoin

True, but that’s only for a limited time I believe. Unless his account is a 4337 wallet already, he will encounter gas at some point and the UX may surprise him I do think everyone today needs to know about gas. Until complete gas sponsorship, it’s an abstraction that cannot be hidden indefinitely
