Tonight is the Loy Krathong festival 🪔 🌕

The Loy Krathong festival is celebrated in Thailand on the full moon of the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar, which usually falls in November according to the solar calendar. The name of the festival means "floating the basket". The baskets made of banana wood are decorated with flowers, candles, banana leaves and incense. 🕯️🙏

On the full moon evening of the festival, Thai people leave their decorated baskets into the water with their wishes. The basket floating away from the water symbolises the removal of anger and unhappiness. 🪔
