How to best handle posts that might belong in multiple channels. That is, should a channel be thought of as a tag with 1:many vs a folder of 1:1

Don't overthink it. Just cast in one of the channels (go with your gut) and then if you really want to x-post, just link to the cast in a new cast in the other channel.

Fair, but in reality it can feel a bit like I'm spamming multiple channels, which I try to avoid.

Agreed, this feels like reddit cross posting. Turns out that often hash tags are the right way to communicate across audiences. Channels feel more like when you want to broadcast to a specific audience. Maybe channels can (optionally?) aggregate tags as well

My guess is that the experience of this is different for @dwr.eth who has lots of followers, and for those of us with few. Theory: When you have lots you WANT to target to optimize engagement, when you have few you want to broadcast to capture reach.
