For someone to stealth follow me But I'm also trying to fully understand the value/purpose of this tool. Is it just to get around notifications and public signal of following a certain account?

For Anila it's to work around the followers correction in warpcast rewards. For me it's working around spam algo's and taking back control For others it could be hiding their fetishes or political preferences from the protocol For some others it could be useful for stalking replies I think buoy will soon support this type of follow for any fid
