Scientists say they have observed an orangutan in East Asia who used a tropical plant in nature as an ointment to treat his wound. He chews the leaves of a medicinal plant and uses his fingers to apply the paste to a wound that he presses on his right cheek to temporarily cover the affected area like a bandage.
