The Blender Game Engine (BGE) was introduced in 2000 with Blender 2.0. It was one of the first open-source real-time game engines integrated into a 3D modeling suite. However, it was officially removed in Blender 2.8 (2019) due to outdated technology and lack of maintenance.. However, its legacy continues through forks and alternatives. UPBGE (Uchronia Project Blender Game Engine) is a modern BGE fork that keeps real-time game development alive in Blender, offering physics, logic nodes, and Python scripting. WIP:
