I understand what you mean. Sofia is a city with many faces and sometimes a very ugly one

Plovdiv, on the other hand, is one of my favorites Bulgarian cities 💙 If you don’t remember it, I’d suggest coming back again, especially in spring time (May-June)

Sophia seemed to me culturally vibrant, but otherwise perhaps a little drab. Sozopol, on the Black Sea, was,
to me, quite beautiful and weird and unique…a really wonderful vacation spot. Aside from that, I had an afternoon in Plovdiv that I cannot for the life of me remember.

If you want to come here for skiing, I’d suggest mid to late January or very early February

In recent years, there isn’t much snow in Bulgaria 🤷🏻‍♂️

interestingly was researching to visit Bulgaria for skiing in December but it turns out timing is a bit too early for the slopes in Bulgaria
