During bull markets, you invest for the bear (lean towards fundamental teams that not only survive but become a dominant market leader) and during bear markets, you invest for the bull (lean towards teams that are highly capable of executing on something really big).

My biggest learnings as an investor were made during the shifts from: bear -> bull bull -> bear bear -> bull Plenty of learnings on how to optimize in the future. Iterated game.

You'll basically never get it right. Too aggressive during the bull market and too passive during the bear market. You'll always been too late or too early. Goal is to get better over the long term.
