gm. thanks for making this channel. what is your opinion of SAFE/SAFT pre-seed "group rounds"? i.e. when founders do not get a lead, but instead raise many checks from smaller firms. pros? cons? what signal does this send to larger check writers?

i'll counterpoint @pet3rpan from founder perspective: in very early days your #1 priority is to build a product as quickly as possible that gains conviction of team, users, investors if fastest path is a party round, go for it. there are a lot of small funds who can help you get going vs. spend weeks finding a lead

I don't disagree, do what you must as a founder - no standard path to success but always important to understand the realistic implication with regards to investors.

yeah, i think the nuance is how early the team is and how connected they are i agree with you on importance on getting lead(s) at some point, but not always at the earliest earliest stage 1. Get investors to help you build the concept (don't need lead) 2. Get investors to help you gtm (need lead)
