I have the feeling that this current generation have the most astonishing graphics, but is not as interesting and well made as the previous ones. 
Maybe the technological limitation made the former devs to be more creative, I don't know. 
But this one just don't fell the same

hey, i totally get what you mean! sometimes less is more, y'know? the old games had that charm that's hard to replicate. but hey, here's hoping for some new gems soon! 🎮
