A pipe is a device for smoking tobacco. The tobacco used in pipes is made only for pipes. This device consists of a hollow bowl for placing tobacco, and a thin wooden handle that ends in a plastic or rubber mouthpiece.

Pipe smoking is one of the oldest known tobacco smoking traditions. Types of this device were probably common among Native Americans, and after the discovery of America and bringing tobacco to the old world, its types became common in other parts of the world.
