2016 a literal bucket list item was checked off for me. As a kid, I played Pokémon at the card shop weekly and some MTG casually. I always wanted to work at Wizards, like most 90’s kids did. Then I had the opportunity- my IP Licensing Lab professor and my Trademark Lab professor were both on their legal team so naturally I busted my butt, talked to them, to our Externships liaison, interviewed, and landed a spot at the happiest place on earth. It was only a half year term as part of my Juris Doctor program but it was the most meaningful time I have ever spent in law. I did ask if they let people keep badges for sentiment — unfortunately no — so I made sure to take a photo so I can always delve back into the nostalgic times. I think the legal I knew mostly cycled out. Caitlin went to Nike and Nick moved up within Hasbro. Honestly though, I’d go back in a heartbeat. Someone pay for me to get back to Renton. It really was the best work and experience I EVER had ANYWHERE in my life. 😂

Not legal or financial advice even though I work professionally in both but this has to be said again and again. Be careful flexing DAFs like some retail consumer solution to donating. A DAF is not your charity you’re supporting. A DAF is a group of people who decide how and who gets your donation. A registered nonprofit charity who receives funds directly is who you want to contribute to. NOT the groups who just move the money. Some DAFs rock! MANY are bogus. DYOR and treat crypto DAFs like a content coin for a group of content coins.

I love the egg tomagatchi @warpcastadmin.eth made but I don’t love that I can’t show my niece much due to the raunchy notifications and puns. Not too much of a loss since there isn’t much interaction between claim periods yet. 😂 She saw the app on my phone in the car yesterday and was like IS THAT A GAME?! Looking forward to being able to hand the niece the phone to play tomagatchi chickens.

If someone wants to North America hackathon a real charitable project for @base with me please get in touch ASAP. Team is set up and I’m approved, but it starts April 25th. Otherwise it looks like I’m solo and on my own even with all the ‘resources’. 🥲 I have a massive idea to tap a $500B industry nobody is even thinking to try because they’re so focused on fee splits.
