Voter atrophy comes from not making governance enjoyable enough to spend your time. That's the beauty of a DAO.

Having to spend 4 hours in a call to hear a few proposals is too much time for most people, especially on a weekday.

Agreed that voter participation is important, but that's a separate issue to the DUNA imo.

If this were a regular proposal, I'd agree with you, no doubt. But we're talking about a proposal that's kicking off a new season of Nouns, and it's being framed that way. Shouldn't the community get proper announcements, more time, and some real credit for that? I mean, it's practically a referendum, how many referendums do you see in a lifetime? 🤔

The first time I talked about DUNA was in Nouncil back in March with wag at the end of an open call that lasted 6 hours. (I'm not part of the DUNA team)

For 6 months no one figured "oh we should go find more nouns members who aren't active and get them involved on this important topic"

I'd love if you have a solution for this long term, but most inactives just don't care or have more important things to do

I think that's the issue with nouncil tbh. I try to join at 7am, but most weeks the first hour is slow and I end up having meetings by 8am. There were still over 10 people the week wag brought it up.

I have never had a problem DMing any older nouns member (I joined Jan24) about learning more about the dao, kind of feel like that's on the individual for not trying to get more involved. 

I got to work on Quack by asking, joined esports by asking, went to events with my own money to meet nouns members, etc. No one gate kept me from convos, just had to show that I wanted to contribute

Unfortunately, I wasn’t part of that call. From what I know, DUNA didn’t even become effective until July 1, 2024, and after that, no one said a word about it, it stayed within a small circle. DAO resources were quietly redirected to this proposal without informing members until just a few weeks ago. So, the only people who knew about it were part of this tight-knit group with a history of keeping things hush-hush. How could regular members like us even be aware of it when it’s been hidden from the DAO the whole time?
