Currently, we have Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), which is designed for specific tasks, like ChatGPT, Siri, or recommendation engines. However, these systems lack the ability to generalize knowledge across multiple domains.
The next big breakthrough in AGI is expected to come from advancements in reasoning and cognitive depth. OpenAI's "o1" model, released in September 2024, represents a significant leap in this direction.
