I'm having trouble understanding it. Is it like IPFS but more structured??

Data is actually onchain. It let's onchain things own other onchain things and data:

-Patch an audit report directly to an address (that other smart contracts can read)
-Allow NFTs to own other NFTs (and if transferred, the entire ownership hierarchy gets transferred).

It also let's you set rules - who can update this data? Can it every be transferred or is it soulbound? It's permisionless too. If it exists onchain anyone can patch data or content to it. Comments, likes, coupons, reputation scores, whatever
