Especially in early stage (0→1). Vacations? Rare. Weekends? Blurry. >> Pay & Money: •Early-stage founders often take <$100k salary for years. Many times $0 in the first 1-2 years 80% of startups never raise beyond Seed, so years wasted without $

>> Stress & Mental Health: •72% of founders report mental health issues. (Source: Startup Snapshot 2022) Anxiety, loneliness, burnout, very common. >> Lifestyle: •Most social plans revolve around work. •Friends = coworkers, investors, other founders. •Relationships & family life take a hit unless very carefully protected. ⸻ Typical Founder Traits: (not glamorous, but consistent across data) - Obsession: They think about their startup 24/7. - Resilience: Fail often and get back up to iterate. - High Pain Tolerance: Constant rejection, uncertainty, criticism. - Unreasonable Optimism: Delusional enough to believe they’ll win. (confuses the hell out of their family, partners, and friends) ⸻ So before starting up….... Don’t ask: “Is this a cool idea?” Ask: “Am I okay becoming a person who works 10 years, 70 hrs/week, probably broke for a while, with most people not understanding what I’m doing?”

“Can I do this without guaranteed fame, wealth, or approval?” (coz none of it is guaranteed) ⸻ Startup is not an escape from the 9-5. It’s trading the 9-5 for a 24/7.
