Hi there. I see "Blender" and I almost always give a follow.
I was a cartoon animator (yes, old-school hand-drawn) in the late 90s to early 2000s, before I shifted to 3D animation.
After years of using proprietary 3D software at work, in 2013 my friend and former boss years prior, asked me to learn Blender after seeing me post some silly stuff I created with it on FB.
I gave it three weeks of studies and then got hired to work in the 3D department of his new studio as a Blender artist.
We worked on a direct-to-video movie, the third installment of the famous Curious George series, "Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle" for Universal Pictures.
And then, after that we also worked on the second season of Disney TV Animation's "Penn Zero, Part-time Hero". But this time I also used Maya alongside Blender.
So that's how I got started on Blender, after years of using LightWave, SoftImage, and Maya. 1 reply
