$PANDA is the first charity coin on /base, aiming to capture the monetary value of attention and utilize it for good 🔵 

The vision of /panda was derived from three main ideas, but has evolved from countless other inspirations 🐼👇

1) Charity coins

A couple weeks ago Vitalik wrote "What else coin memecoins be?" (https://vitalik.eth.limo/general/2024/03/29/memecoins.html)

In there he defined charity coins as a token "where a large portion of the token supply (or some ongoing fee mechanism) is dedicated to some kind of charity."

He states they're an “unclaimed opportunity” to create something more positive-sum and long-lasting

$PANDA collects a 1% donation on every buy/sell of the token, which is donated to the @pandacoin team’s chosen charity, Pandas International

2) Memecoin flywheel

Andrew Kang has previously stated that memecoins are “all about the attention economy"

He also tweeted an example, "Mr Beast has paved a unique flywheel of leveraging attention for financial capital for public good for more attention."

2.1) Memecoin flywheel

With the @pandacoin project, the donations we collect are a form of "value capture" from the attention we generate

Which is then "reinvested" back into the $PANDA project by donating to various charities 🔄

These donations can help generate attention outside of the CT echo-chamber, which can subsequently help generate more donations, thus constructing our own flywheel

3) Nature's $BTC

Over nine years ago, expert wildlife ecologist Dr. Bill McShea gave a TED Talk entitled “A sickness called panda love”.

During his presentation, he notably states that “Pandas are the Bitcoin of the natural world”.
