Ah let me clarify. When I’m on the go, I use the Things widget or the Apple Watch Things complication to add my thought to my to-do list with little distraction. 

Later, on my laptop, I’ll process the snippets flesh them out in my journal. This is for situations where I don’t want to pause too long to write it d
