This is currently my fav corner of Farcaster. A group of online friends coming together to bet on football & discuss the Euros 24. I also like well-scoped channels such as /berlin /data /consumercrypto but the engagement in /sports-bets is on another level. I'm not sure if this will go on after the Euros but hope to see many such cozy corners on Farcaster 👍

I think we can continue our fun and place bets on Champions League games - I can easily leverage the code I wrote for Euros. The only issue is crowdfunding... I don't know how can we engage others to "give something" 😆

My friends bet on betting websites too & make sidebets outside crypto. It’s time we (+ everyone in $degen & crypto) do it with crypto, launch the bets on time & make everyone put their own money in (doesn’t have to be much). The quotes should be better than anywhere else, there might be a small $degen boost sometimes and the $degen stays among us :)

I thought already why crypto apps like @overtimemarkets don’t get as much love as other betting website despite similar xp & quotes. Ultimately, I guess they don’t have the same marketing budget to bring in constantly new people but a good, active group is all we need and the format doesn’t even matter that much

Account abstraction isn't quite there for mass retail yet (but this will soon be addressed!). In other words, it's hard to get someone who's not a crypto native to create an account with a social media profile and then top up their ETH. Or it's difficult to grasp why we have Optimism/Arbitrum/Base and how much you're earning in bonuses if it's 20,000 OP. :)
