The sanctions of the American OFAC did not stop the work of Tornado Cash. The volume of deposits of the cryptomixer in the first half of 2024 increased to $1.9 billion. To understand the scale, this is already more than in the WHOLE of last year. Since the end of May alone, the volume of funds inside the mixer has increased by more than 20%, exceeding $550 million.

Recall that in 2022, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) blacklisted Tornado Cash for assistance in laundering criminal funds worth $7 billion, including by North Korean hackers
