if you were to start a mobile app from scratch today, what would you use for your backend stack? (both tech choices and hosting provider[s])

working on infra to displace adtech at /microsub • dance music lover + host of /campfire 🎧

Unless there's a strong reason not to (e.g need to use a library only available in Typescript) i'd use Go  for the backend.  Hosting will definitely be Digital Ocean, pretty easy to stuff all your services in a beefy droplet with Nginx until you hit scale. Or can just use app platform.

btw how would you run your services within a droplet? docker swarm or sth?

Go is a fine choice indeed, but i don't know it and i only have a quarter to demonstrate traction
