The next big breakthrough in AGI will likely come from self-learning systems, causal reasoning, efficient architectures, and real-world interaction. Advances in neuromorphic computing, embodied AI, and autonomous goal-setting could push AI toward true autonomy. Estimates suggest AGI may emerge within 10–30 years, but key challenges remain.
