The brightest comet of 2025 is gaining luster! The near–solar comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) is scheduled to pass on January 13 at the minimum distance from the Sun (13 million km is 5 times closer than Mercury!). If C/2024 G3 survives perihelion, it may become so bright that it will be visible in the twilight sky in Russia from January 10 to January 18, 2025.
