European Bitcoin treasury company The Blockchain Group confirmed its return to profitability while unveiling aggressive plans to expand its Bitcoin reserves over the coming years.

The Paris-listed firm, which formally rebranded itself as Europe’s first “Bitcoin Treasury Company ” in Nov 2024, recorded a net profit of €1.3M  for 2024, reversing a €22.7M  loss from the prior year.

The result followed deep restructuring efforts, including divestitures and cost reductions, which reduced general and administrative expenses by 43% and overall staff costs by 34%, per its annual financial report.

🔼 Strategy founder says BlackRock's IBIT spot Bitcoin ETF is the largest ETF in the world in 10 years.

Launched in January 2024, IBIT has become the fastest-growing ETF in history, raising $10 billion in seven weeks since its inception.

What does Farcaster look like in the near term?

At some point this summer:

1. Coinbase Wallet will have a Farcaster-powered feed in their mobile app with millions of existing users. This will be the most significant increase to practical decentralization of the protocol since the beginning.

2. Our app will be called Farcaster. Easy to explain to the average person—"download Farcaster in the App Store".

3. Sign ups for most people will be free. Link your X / Twitter account and no payment required.

4. Wallet will be available on web. And thanks to auth addresses, no more "please open your phone to continue using this mini app".

5. Wallet and mini apps will expand their support to multiple chains. If there's an interesting app in crypto, the goal will be to have it play nicely with Farcaster.

6. We're going to continue scaling our weekly reward programs: iterating on casting and building mini apps, but we're also working on a new version of the invite program that rewards referrals AND retention.
